Kenneth T. Okamoto

Ken was born in Japan and is fluent in Japanese. He graduated from Florida State University in 1973, and South Texas College of Law in 1976.

Ken began his career at the Public Defender’s office where he gained extensive trial experience. He entered private practice in 1980 with the firm of Libkuman, Moon, Kekina & Ayabe. One of his former partners, Ronald Moon, is the current Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court.

In private practice Ken concentrated in insurance defense, premises liability, breach of contract litigation, commercial and real estate matters. He also began representing Asian businesses in Hawaii in litigation and regulatory matters.

In 1987 Ken began the firm that is now Price Okamoto Himeno & Lum. His practice concentrates in personal injury and commercial litigation and he continues to represent Asian clients in legal, political and regulatory matters.

Ken is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the State Judicial Arbitration Commission, the Consumer Lawyers of Hawaii, the Inns of Court, and was selected as a “Master Mediator” in the Court Mediation Program.

Ken is the President of the U.S.-Japan Volunteer Association, and a member of the Japan-Hawaii Lawyer's and the Asia-Pacific Lawyer's Associations.
